Hello Deer Hunters
Beaverbrook Sportsmen's Club (Map) will once again open our rifle range to the public to give them a safe place to sight-in their deer hunting rifle. We will be open from 9:00AM to 5:00PM each Saturday and Sunday in October. We will supply targets, spotting scopes and help if you need it. We can also bore-sight your rifle scope if needed to help you save ammunition, there is a small fee for the bore-sighting though. We will have targets at 25 and 100 yards or 50 and 100 yards. We do NOT sell any ammunition so bring all you may need, and may we suggest some extra as well. The cost this year is $8.00 per gun. You will be asked to sign a waiver to use the range.
Hunters, please do not procrastinate!! Come to one of the early weekends when we aren't busy. If you decide to wait until the last weekend, expect to wait for an hour or three to get your turn on the range, we are always very busy!! When we are busy we will not allow someone to spend an overly long period of time at the bench, remember this is about sighting in the gun not just shooting.
About the guns, we only allow firearms that are legal for deer hunting. We are not open for plinking. We do know that muzzle loaders are legal for deer hunting but we normally do not allow them due to the excessive time it takes to sight them in, and the smoke sometimes disrupts other shooters. If you have a muzzle loader and you would like to sight-in please call the club (763) 434-4514 after 10:00AM during the first two weekends and ask the range officer if he will allow it.
Beaverbrook is very Safety Minded and will not tolerate any breech of firearm safety. The following rules must be obeyed. And always remember the range officers are always in complete charge!
1. Keep all firearms IN THEIR CASE until you get to the shooting bench, please do NOT take them out of their case and carry them to the rifle shack, if you do we will ask you to return to your car and put it back into its' case.
2. All guns are to be pointed UP until you reach the bench and then only pointed down range.
3. Keep the guns UNLOADED and have their actions OPEN unless you are actually at the bench and shooting.
4. Do NOT touch any firearms when someone is down range, including those in cases or on a gun rack.
5. Only load ONE cartridge at a time, do NOT load up the magazine.
6. NO rapid fire allowed.
7. Obey ALL range officer commands!!
